NHS ransomware cyber attack spreads worldwide.
The Shadow Brokers released a massive trove of Windows hacking tools allegedly stolen from NSA that works against almost all versions of Windows, from Windows 2000 and XP to Windows 7 and 8, and their server-side variants such as Server 2000, 2003, 2008, 2008 R2 and 2012, except Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016.These tools were designed by the NSA for their Equation Group, and are highly classified software built to be used on the systems of a wide range of major organisations, businesses, and governments.
The hacking exploits could break into millions of Windows computers and servers all over the internet , if the machine is not up-to-date.
Microsoft has released patch for this vulnerabilities . So if you are using Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2012 , please run windows update on your Virtual Machines .You can see the full list of exploits and the patches that stop them on Microsoft TechNet’s article “Protecting customers and evaluating risk”.
